The Taste Gourmet Group in Hong Kong has entered into a joint venture with the WH Group and its subsidiary Shuanghui Food and Beverage Investment Management Company. The partnership which will have headquarters in Shanghai will allow Taste Gourmet to open new restaurants across China.
Wong Ngai Shan, chairman and executive director of Taste Gourmet Group, welcome the opportunity to work with Shuanghui Development and the WH Group. The two companies are known as 'F&B industry giants’ in China. The agreement promises to ‘open doors’ for Taste Gourmet outside Hong Kong.
With the support of these reliable partners, we can maintain a steady and quality supply of food ingredients in China and gain local knowledge concerning the local market, Wong said.
The JV company will look for suitable locations for the opening of Taste Gourmet’s restaurant brands such as Nabe Urawa, Takano Ramen, Parkview, and Rakuraku Ramen. The majority of the supply of food ingredients and related logistics are taken care of by Shuanghui F&B. This arrangement will allow the group to focus on other aspects of the restaurant operations to maintain the quality of the dishes as well as controlling costs. Noting the similarities between the Shanghai and Hong Kong F&B sectors, Taste Gourmet believes that it will be able to replicate its successful strategy in Hong Kong. This strategy consists of opening restaurants in high footfall traffic shopping malls and creating a value-for-money dining experience. (Image: Taste Gourmet's Nabe Urawa restaurant in Hong Kong)
