Two Singapore restaurants, namely Odette and Les Amis received their third Michelin Guide Singapore stars recently — the first two establishments in Singapore to receive three-star distinctions.
"With two of its establishments promoted to a three-star ranking, Singapore is clearly positioned as a leading gastronomic destination," said Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the Michelin Guides. “Getting a three star is always a singular moment in a chef’s life and I am convinced that’s the same feeling for a city or a country. With this historic first, which completes an already extensive culinary scene, Singapore enters a new dimension to the eyes and palate of food lovers.”

Meanwhile, two new entries in the two-star category are Saint Pierre and Zen. These new two-star eateries joins Shisen Hanten, Shoukouwa and Waku Ghin which were already honoured at this level last year.
"To be recognised alongside Singapore's finest dining establishments is an incredible honour," exclaimed Chen Kentaro, executive chef Shisen Hanten which is famous for its Szechwan cuisine. "In a culinary landscape as remarkably diverse and competitive as that of Singapore, to keep raising the bar higher is no mean feat. I continue to be guided by my vision of promoting a greater appreciation for Szechwan cuisine, and inspired by the continuing love and support of all our guests."
Lastly, Michelin awarded one-star status to 37 restaurants in Singapore, with seven of these, new entrants into the Michelin Guide. The new awardees are Basque Kitchen by Aitor, Jag, Lerouy, Table65, Vianney Massot, Cheek Bistro and Meta.
