Italian espresso machine maker La Marzocco, recently relocated its office in South Korea. The new branch, which now has a dedicated showroom, aftersales training centre and a two-story café space, is located in the Gangnam district of Seoul’s modern centre — home to booming skyscrapers, fun nightclubs, lively restaurants and attractive store-fronts.
Matt Café, named after La Marzocco Korea’s general manager Matt Lee, is said to represent the philosophy of the new building — showcasing a “window of eagerness to develop and elevate coffee” in the growing local community.
“We want to serve as an example, acting professionally and inclusively, inviting people to gain knowledge, inspiration and value in their moment at the café,” explained Lee. “La Marzocco is my whole life. And my whole life is dedicated to the brand, its artisanal values and community culture.”
The new branch also includes educational and quiet rooms, a library and a retail shop that invites visitors to learn more about La Marzocco’s coffee offerings such as brewing equipment like the company’s KB90, Strada EP, and Modbar — with an underground floor housing a full Modbar product range (EP, AV, Steam & Pour Over).
With a staff of brilliant baristas, a line-up of cutting-edge specialty coffee equipment, and freshly roasted bean selections, the La Marzocco Korea team promises to bring in a new chapter to rising coffee culture in Korea, where like-minded individuals can share and propel their passions for the caffeine-laden drink.
