This year’s Speciality & Fine Foods Asia show held last week at Suntec Singapore hosted a number of international exhibitors eyeing the South-east Asian F&B market.
Food manufacturers from Uzbekistan, for example were at the show to tempt visitors with products such as dried fruits, nuts, biscuits and other sweet confectioneries. The Uzbekistan delegation also announced that two Uzbekistan exporters — Best Tastes Technology LLC and BroAgro LLC signed a memorandum of understanding with a Singapore company, S.E.A Business Centre, to help them to develop an export market for Uzbekistan products in “the competitive but prospective South-east Asia region, a market of 650 million consumers”.
Singapore as trading, logistics, and financial hub of South-east Asia is the perfect place to start with activities in developing export market for Uzbekistan products, the delegation added.
At the show,Tasty Asia interviewed one of the exhibitors — Botir Umarov, who is deputy head for Export & Foreign Trade for Crafters, a snack and confectionery manufacturer in Uzbekistan, on the yummy products the company plans to offer to the SEA market.
